Thankful For Two Keys

Although we should give thanks everyday, Thanksgiving is when we really stop and count our blessings. As I think about some of the things I am thankful for there is the usual: family, friends, church, job, and of course salvation. But today I am reminded of something else I am truly thankful for. I am thankful for two keys. I know that sounds kind of strange, but if it were not for two keys I would have had to spend a lot of money over the last few months. Let me explain.

Sometimes I need to use the car and so Sheila drives my truck to work. She is a good driver and that doesn’t bother me. What bothers me and makes me thankful at the same time is that 75% of the time she drives my truck to work, I get a call from her and the conversation goes something like this:

My phone rings and I say, “Hello.”
Sheila: “Hi Honey, I love You.”
Me: “What did you do now?”
Sheila: “I locked the keys in the truck, again.”

I then get up at 10:30 at night and drive all the way to Snyder to unlock the truck so she can come home. So you see, if it wasn’t for two keys I would be spending a large amount of money on a locksmith instead of a slightly smaller amount of money for gas to go unlock the door.

I am thankful for my wife and I love her very much and one other thing I am thankful for is that at least she hasn’t lost the truck, so far.

Happy Thanksgiving! May God bless you!

Pastor Rocky
